Art cluster Relict

[about]
Relict is a future art cluster based on the Baikal Pulp and Paper Mill (BPPM). The production was closed in 2013, and after 9 years it was decided to create a new place of attraction for locals, creators and tourists. The concept is based on the symbiosis of nature, the plant, residents and history through the reflection in the water of Lake Baikal and the transformation of the factory into something brand new.

All design concepts are based on the sensations of everything we have touched, seen or photographed. We came up with the idea of transformation through reflections, as pure as the waters of Lake Baikal. Each photo is distorted by the imitation of water ripples, yet without losing its outlines. Following slight graphic alterations the photos became the background basis of the posters.

The composition is based on our formula derived for the project: The theory of 3 touches — people, mountains and lake — the intersection of three objects the art cluster is based upon. Therefore, the name of the art cluster is located at the intersection of the shape and background in each layout.

The exhibition of our works was held from January 26 to February 9 in the headquarters of VEB.RF (Moscow, Russia)
As part of the VK Prostor educational platform, the following people worked on the project:
